About Past & Present

Our store, and free paleontological museum is conveniently located one mile off New York State Thruway (I-90) Exit 56, just south of Buffalo, NY.
Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10-6 and Wednesday and Thursday 10-8, or by appointment.
Combine a visit to our shop with a pre-arranged collecting trip to any number of local Devonian collecting sites, including the Penn Dixie quarry.

Among other fossils, our museum exhibits include a life-size cast of a Tyrannosaurus rex skull, a fossil elephant bird egg the size of a basketball, actual dinosaur bones, and the largest amber exhibit in Western New York. We currently house an articulated leg from the dinosaur Edmontosaurus, 2 life-size jaw models (one with real teeth) of the prehistoric predatory shark Carcharodon megalodon, and much more.

Our store inventory also includes science kits, nature books, collecting tools, crystals, jewelry, and gifts from around the world.

We've been buying, selling, and trading quality fossils since 1989. We opened our store in November 1995. Glen has a bachelor's degree in geoscience and was General Curator at a public aquarium. We collect and prepare many of our own fossils. We do everything from desert collecting to river and coastal diving for fossils.
